What’s Blocking You From Seeing Yourself the Way God Does?
Many believers never walk in identity because of internal barriers:
1. Past Pain and Trauma
Pain becomes a filter.
You begin to see life through wounds rather than through truth.
2. Negative Words Spoken Over You
Words like:
- “You’ll never be good enough.”
- “You’re nothing.”
- “You’re a failure.”
- “You’re too much / not enough.”
These words echo until replaced by God’s truth.
3. Shame and Condemnation
Shame says your past defines you.
God says the blood of Jesus defines you.
4. Comparison
Comparison kills identity.
You can’t be who God called you to be if you’re trying to be what someone else is.
5. Spiritual Warfare
The enemy specifically attacks identity because identity determines destiny.
How to See Yourself the Way God Sees You
Here are the practical, biblical steps to transform your self-image.
1. Replace Your Thoughts With God’s Thoughts
Transformation begins with the mind.
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2
You can’t believe what God says until you think what God thinks.
2. Break Agreement With Every Lie
Say this out loud:
“In Jesus’ name, I break agreement with every lie about my identity.”
This is spiritual warfare.
