6. You Don’t Use the Authority God Gave You
If you rarely pray boldly, resist the devil, or speak declarations, you do not recognize your spiritual authority.
Jesus gave believers authority:
“Behold, I give you power and authority…” — Luke 10:19
“Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven.” —Matthew 18:18
Signs of identity confusion:
- You accept spiritual attacks instead of resisting them.
- You shrink back when warfare hits.
- You feel spiritually powerless.
- You think deliverance or breakthrough is for others.
But the Bible says:
“You are seated with Christ in heavenly places.” —Ephesians 2:6
Authority comes from identity.
If you don’t know who you are, you won’t walk in the authority already given to you.
Identity truth:
You don’t fight for victory. Your fight is from victory.
7. You Depend on Feelings Instead of Truth
When your emotions decide your identity more than Scripture, confusion enters.
You think:
- I don’t feel chosen.
- I don’t feel strong.
- I don’t feel forgiven.
- I don’t feel close to God.
But God never told you to live by feelings.
He said:
“Walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7
“Sanctify them by the truth; Your Word is truth.” —John 17:17
Feelings change.
Truth doesn’t.
Identity truth:
Identity is rooted in Scripture, not emotions.
